About this site

Honest numbers, open methodology, and no incentive except being right.

Nestworth.UK is built and maintained by one person: a retired software engineer and quantitative analyst who spent a career in large tech and finance, and now wants to put those skills to better use — helping people make sense of the money decisions that are made confusing on purpose.

The areas covered here — investing fees, pensions, ISAs, benefits, solar and battery economics — share a pattern: they're important, they're avoidably expensive to get wrong, and most of the "advice" available comes from someone earning a commission. This site is the alternative: honest numbers, open methodology, and no incentive except being right.

The promise: no ads, nothing for sale, no sponsored content, no tracking or analytics. The only thing stored on our server is what you choose to post as a comment: your name, the comment, and your IP address for spam protection (the IP is deleted after 30 days). Every calculator publishes its assumptions so you can check the working. If something here is wrong, it gets fixed — tell me.
